Medical Coder and Biller Celeste Health Nashville, TN Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 15 hours ago Qualifications Medicare Medical Coding Certification HIPAA English eClinicalWorks Certified Professional Coder Attention to detail Certified Coding Specialist Medical Billing Certification Full Job Description Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Coder and Biller to join Celeste Health, an AI-powered revenue cycle management company. In this role you will translate GI procedures and diagnoses into accurate codes, build the charges, and get clean claims submitted for the ambulatory surgery centers and outpatient groups we serve. We work as a credentialed user inside each client's own EMR, so you will code and bill in the systems our clients already use. This is an opportunity to do precise coding and billing work, and get certified with Exactrx. The ideal candidate knows GI coding and billing, reads an endoscopy report quickly and carefully, and likes working somewhere the process is still being built. Responsibilities Review procedure reports, pathology results, and provider documentation to assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for outpatient GI services Code screening and diagnostic colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, EUS, and flexible sigmoidoscopy Assign modifiers correctly, including PT, 33, 53, 59, and XU Apply Medicare screening logic: G0105, G0121, screening-to-diagnostic conversion, and frequency rules Code polypectomy technique accurately across snare, cold biopsy, hot biopsy, EMR, ablation, and combinations in one session Resolve discrepancies flagged by our automated post-coding audit before charges go out Enter encounters, codes, and charges in SIS and eClinicalWorks, then batch and submit through the client's clearinghouse Work clearinghouse rejections and rebill Reconcile remittances against contracted rates and flag underpayments Flag the denial patterns you notice so our team can build them into the platform's rules Complete the Exactrx certification and become an expert in the platform Stay current on ICD-10 and CPT updates and on payer policy changes affecting GI Follow coding guidelines and patient confidentiality standards without exception Skills 1-3+ years of medical billing and coding, with exposure to GI CPC, COC, CCS, or CGIC certification, or actively working toward one Working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS for outpatient and ASC services Comfortable reading endoscopy reports and pathology results, and confident on screening versus diagnostic determination Experience in eClinicalWorks. SIS (Surgical Information Systems) is a plus and we will train you on it Familiar with ASC facility billing alongside professional fee Comfortable reading a fee schedule and knowing when a payment is short Strong attention to detail interpreting clinical documentation Clear written communication for coordinating with client site contacts A private, HIPAA-appropriate workspace and reliable internet Bonus Points You have coded across multiple GI sites rather than one center You have worked at a billing company or MSO You have been part of an automation or software rollout and have opinions about what machines should and should not touch You have worked at an early-stage company and like building the process rather than inheriting it Join our team as a Medical Coder and Biller where your expertise will directly impact the efficiency of healthcare delivery! We value precision, integrity, and a proactive approach - qualities that drive our mission to provide exceptional service while supporting the financial health of our organization. To Apply Send your resume and a short note. Tell us about a GI case where the coding was not obvious and how you decided.
