Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Mental Health Billing and Credentialing Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the billing processes related to mental health services, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, and maintaining provider credentials in compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will help streamline revenue cycles, support provider credentialing efforts, and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements such as NCQA standards. Responsibilities Process and submit insurance claims for mental health services accurately and promptly, ensuring compliance with managed care policies utilizing EMR (TherapyNotes) Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and authorizations prior to service delivery to facilitate smooth reimbursement processes. Maintain up-to-date provider credentials, licenses, and certifications in accordance with industry standards and NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) requirements. Manage credentialing applications, re-credentialing, and enrollment procedures for new and existing providers. Collaborate with insurance companies, managed care organizations, and other payers to resolve billing issues and expedite payments. Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and remittance advices to reconcile payments and identify discrepancies or denials for follow-up. Ensure all billing practices comply with federal, state, and payer-specific regulations while adhering to organizational policies. Experience Proven experience in medical billing within a mental health or behavioral health setting is preferred. Strong knowledge of managed care billing processes, insurance protocols, and reimbursement procedures. Familiarity with medical office operations, including appointment scheduling, documentation, and patient communication. Excellent understanding of medical terminology relevant to mental health services. Experience working in compliance with NCQA standards or similar accreditation requirements is highly desirable. Ability to navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software efficiently. $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
