The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and facilitating timely reimbursement from insurance providers. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems, and medical records management to support efficient revenue cycle operations. The Medical Biller will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our practice while adhering to industry standards and regulations. Duties Prepare and submit insurance claims using appropriate coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG. Review and verify patient information, medical records, and documentation for accuracy and completeness. Utilize EMR and EHR systems to document billing activities and track claim statuses. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective collection strategies. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and payer requirements related to medical coding and billing. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in ICD coding, CPT coding, and other relevant billing guidelines. Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and improve processes. Generate reports on billing activities, collections, and outstanding accounts for management review. Experience Proven experience in medical billing with a solid understanding of
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and DRG systems. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of medical collection procedures and insurance claim submission processes. Prior experience in a medical office setting is advantageous. Ability to interpret complex medical records and translate them into accurate billing codes. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all billing activities.
