Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. This role involves managing the full cycle of medical billing processes for healthcare providers, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, follow-up on unpaid accounts, and effective communication with insurance companies and patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong bilingual skills, enabling seamless interaction with diverse patient populations and insurance entities. This position plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the practice while delivering exceptional service to our patients and partners. Duties Prepare, review, and submit medical claims using various coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, and ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases) to insurance payers accurately. Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing to ensure proper claim processing. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims promptly, appealing or resubmitting as necessary to maximize reimbursements. Maintain detailed medical records and documentation to support billing activities and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations. Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems for data entry, claim submission, and record management. Communicate effectively in both languages with patients regarding billing questions, payment plans, or outstanding balances. Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accuracy of medical coding, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications, and documentation for billing purposes. Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards and insurance policies to ensure ongoing compliance. Assist in resolving discrepancies related to medical records or billing errors through detailed review and coordination with relevant departments. Skills Proficiency in medical billing procedures, including claim submission, follow-up, and collections. Strong knowledge of CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9 and ICD-10), DRG classifications, and medical terminology. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data management. Familiarity with medical records management and healthcare compliance standards. Excellent bilingual communication skills to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Ability to interpret complex insurance policies and resolve billing disputes efficiently. Attention to detail with strong organizational skills for managing multiple claims simultaneously. Knowledge of medical coding standards and updates is highly desirable.
