Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately processing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining precise medical records. Your expertise will help streamline billing operations, improve revenue cycle management, and support the overall financial health of our healthcare facility. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care by facilitating efficient billing processes and fostering positive relationships with insurance providers and patients alike. Duties Prepare and submit accurate insurance claims using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with all coding standards. Utilize CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) coding systems to classify vascular diagnoses and procedures precisely. Review medical records to verify the accuracy of billing information and ensure proper documentation of services rendered. Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through effective medical collection strategies, working diligently to resolve discrepancies and expedite payments. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, claim submissions, adjustments, and collections for audit purposes. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation or coding issues that may impact reimbursement. Stay current with evolving medical coding regulations, including updates to ICD coding standards and insurance policies. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare billing procedures. Proficiency in
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, DRG classifications, and understanding of medical billing software. Experience working with Athena One for efficient claim processing and record keeping. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to review complex medical documentation accurately. Effective communication skills for liaising with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients regarding billing inquiries. Familiarity with medical collection processes and strategies for resolving unpaid claims. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in coding regulations and billing procedures while maintaining compliance. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility's revenue cycle while supporting high-quality patient care through efficient administrative processes.
