In this vital role, you'll ensure accurate documentation and coding of patient encounters, facilitating seamless reimbursement processes and compliance with healthcare regulations. Responsibilities Accurately assign and review Diagnosis-Related Group (DRG) codes, Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, and International Classification of Diseases (ICD-9 and ICD-10) codes for patient records Ensure proper medical coding for procedures, diagnoses, and treatments to support billing and reimbursement processes Review and update medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for completeness and accuracy Collaborate with medical staff to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies Manage medical collections by following up on outstanding accounts and ensuring timely payments Maintain comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, coding guidelines, and healthcare compliance standards Assist in organizing and safeguarding medical records to ensure confidentiality and easy retrieval Requirements Proven experience in medical coding, billing, or related healthcare administrative roles Familiarity with
DRG, CPT
coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 classifications, and medical terminology Experience working with EMR systems and EHR platforms for documentation management Strong understanding of medical records management and healthcare compliance standards Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex clinical documentation Prior experience in medical office settings or healthcare facilities preferred Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding coding and billing issues Join us as a biller clerk where your skills will empower efficient healthcare delivery!
