codes Follow up on unpaid or denied insurance claims through effective collections strategies while maintaining professional communication with insurance companies. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility using healthcare claims management systems and EMR/EHR platforms. Resolve billing discrepancies by collaborating with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance carriers to clarify medical records and coding details. Maintain detailed records of all billing activities, payments received, adjustments made, and correspondence related to collections. Stay current with evolving healthcare laws, insurance policies, and coding updates to ensure compliance and optimize reimbursement processes. Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT), and healthcare claims management. Proficiency in billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems, and Microsoft Office applications. DataTel MOMS billing software preferred Experience in medical office operations with a focus on billing and collections processes. Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to communicate clearly with patients, insurance representatives, and healthcare providers. Familiarity with health insurance policies, benefits verification, and health insurance regulations. Ability to analyze complex medical records for accurate coding and billing purposes.
