The Huntsville Municipal Court has jurisdiction and responsibility for motor vehicle and traffic violations, criminal misdemeanors, municipal ordinance violations, enforcement or regulation violations under the City Ordinances. The jurisdiction of the Huntsville Municipal Court extends to offenses committed within the city limits. The Municipal Court supervises Probation, Electronic Monitoring, Work Furlough, and Community Service Division.Court Clerk II Position Overview:
This is advanced court clerical work requiring the completion of more complex office assignments in Municipal Court. Work involves advanced court clerical lead work as well as routinely making independent judgments and decisions pertaining to court matters and procedures. Employees in this class have complex duties and are responsible for the work performed in their area.Qualifications and Necessary Special Requirements:
High school diploma from a school accredited by a regional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or GED certificate issued by the appropriate state agency, supplemented by clerical and customer service experience. Court clerical experience desired. Valid Alabama Driver's License (If you have an out of state license, you must obtain an Alabama License within thirty (30) days of hire/promotion date ). Must be a register voter in the State of Alabama within thirty (30) days from hire/promotion date. Must obtainNCIC/ACJIS
Certification within thirty (30) days from hire/promotion date. Must obtain Certification as a Magistrate in the State of Alabama within eleven (11) months from hire/promotion date. Must meet the qualifications to complete the "Application to be Appointed/Rescinded as a Magistrate/Warrant Clerk upon hire/promotion (see link).https:
