Court Financial Technician I/II - Bakersfield 007 1.2 1.2 out of 5 stars JOB Court Financial Technician I/II - Bakersfield 007This recruitment is open to all internal and external candidates that meet the minimum qualifications for the position. This regular full-time position recruitment closes at 5:00 p.m. on March 4, 2026.
Level I:
$1,649.38 - $2,013.56 biweekly
Level II:
$1,849.86 - $2,258.30 biweekly Under direction, performs accounting and financial related activities within a framework of established guidelines.

The Court Financial Technician I is the entry/journey level in the Financial Technician series. Assignments at this level include a full range of accounting and financial duties of average difficulty. The Court Financial Technician II is the intermediate/journey level in the Financial Technician series. Incumbents are expected to perform a wide variety of difficult accounting and financial duties with limited supervision. This class is distinguished from the Accountant series in that Accountants perform complex accounting duties related to auditing and fiscal analysis. Incumbents who meet the minimum employment standards for the Court Financial Technician II may be promoted without further examination subject to the recommendation of the employee's supervisor and approval of the Court Financial Manager and Human Resources Manager.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Prepares, monitors and maintains complex financial and statistical records and data including, posting transactions to journals and ledgers, adjusting accounts according to established Court procedures, and reconciling accounting data.

Verifies and processes a variety of financial and accounting documents.

Balances financial accounts; validates expenditure claims; tracks expenditures; monitors compliance with allocated budget, contract and/or grants.

Prepares accounting systems documents (e.g. vouchers, encumbrances,warrants, transfers, and checks) for approval and distribution.

Receives revenue payments, reconciles monies received against receipts,prepares deposits, and maintains accurate records of monies received.

Prepares, updates, and maintains a variety of correspondence, billings, records, and or files.

Conducts regularly scheduled and year-end closing of account ledgersand books.

Researches, interprets and consolidates financial and statistical information from a variety of sources; prepares financial and statistical reports as required.

Serves as liaison between regional Courts and department headquarters.

Responds to and assists customers and employees with requests for information and/or inquiries related to programs or policies over the phone and in person; researches customer discrepancies; and resolves customer problems.

Utilizes a personal computer and Court related software.

Performs other job-related duties as required.
