Job Description

The Office Assistant III (Personnel Clerk) position receives on-the-job training to progress in the Personnel Clerk job series to become a higher level Personnel Clerk. The Office Assistant III (Personnel Clerk) performs routine and standardized clerical personnel work, assisting with the preparation and processing of personnel transaction documents, forms, letters, notices, and reports in accordance with established policies, processes, and procedures; and performs other duties as required. The Office Assistant III (Personnel Clerk) progresses sequentially to become a Personnel Clerk I and a Personnel Assistant. The Department of the Prosecuting Attorney emphasizes training and development of all our staff in order for them to have long-term success and career advancement within the Department for many years to help the Department provide justice and public safety for the people of Hawaii. If you have concerns of not having prior work experience in the legal field, that is not a problem, as you will receive the necessary tools and support to grow and succeed in the family-oriented working environment of the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney. Many of our current staff have joined our Department without any legal experience at varying stages of their career to become successful and essential members of our team. During your employment with the Department of the Prosecuting Attorney, you will receive regular annual pay increases every July 1st, additional pay increases as you progress through the Personnel Clerk Series, and additional salary step increases for years of service.
