Deputy Clerk - 3rd shift Columbus, OH Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Record keeping Financial transaction processing Phone communication Mid-level High school diploma or GED Court case file organization Clerical experience Legal case management 2 years File organization Client interaction via phone calls Full Job Description The Franklin County Municipal Court Clerk of Court's Office serves as the legal guardian and keeper of all the official records of the Franklin County Municipal Court including all criminal and civil case filings, subpoenas, search warrants, pleadings and monies (Court costs, fines, and third party monies from garnishments). The Clerk's Office is entrusted with the responsibility of processing and archiving all Court records in accordance with file retention requirements established by the Supreme Court of Ohio. Additionally, the Clerk's Office calculates and fully details all financial transactions involving the Court. The Clerk's Office compiles and publishes an Annual Report each year that details the various categories of Court case filings, all financial transactions connected with all Court cases and statistically reports all relevant data regarding the same. Job description General Description Clerks are responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all court records that are filed within the Franklin County Municipal Court. The Municipal Court Clerk's Office has multiple Divisions, This Clerk could provide information to the public, law enforcement personnel, attorneys, and all court personnel, concerning court records, bail information, fine schedule amounts, and fine and cost information based on the division they are assigned. In addition, will be responsible for organizing and filing various court records. Core Responsibilities Processes all filings and transactions at the service counters. Provides explanations involving inquiries made by the general public, law enforcement personnel, attorneys, court personnel, based on the type of case. Answers all case related questions via the telephone rather for the Civil or Criminal Traffic departments Enters and reviews all necessary modifications in the court system software Processes cases in which a demand for trial has been filed or updates any other miscellaneous action necessary. Primary Daily Responsibilities 1. Locates case files 2. Filing of jury or record demands 3. Offers professional and accurate explanations to inquiries regarding: - Charges and case dispositions 4. Date, time, and courtroom a defendant is to appear 5. Initiates complaints into CourtView which are processed on warrant or summons. 6. Properly applies all computer informational codes which are used in regard to the initiation, various modifications, sentencing, and termination of criminal and traffic & Civil cases.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Two years experience in a clerical role which includes filing Excellent customer service experience Well organized Two years computer software experience
