Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic while providing exceptional patient care. This position requires proficiency in various dental procedures, familiarity with dental terminology, and the ability to assist in both general and pediatric dentistry settings. Duties Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols. Take and develop X-rays, including medical imaging as required. Record patient medical history and vital signs accurately in EMR systems. Provide chairside assistance during various dental treatments, including prosthodontics and endodontics. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Manage dental records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Utilize dental software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for scheduling appointments and managing patient information. Support the front office with dental receptionist duties as needed. Skills Proficiency in EMR systems, including experience with practise management software such as Dentrix, Dentrix Ascent, Eaglesoft, Epic, etc. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, along with knowledge of infection control practices. Familiarity with 3D scanners and medical coding is advantageous. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a calm demeanor under pressure. Excellent communication skills to interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Aseptic technique knowledge is essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
