Job Description

Serves and executes warrants and other processes issued for the Municipal Court.
Requires:
Certified Peace Officer Certification Serve and execute warrants; Arrest persons; explain their legal rights and take them into custody; Refer to local directories and contact various public agencies, utility companies, and merchants in attempting to locate subjects; Maintain records and files; Return prisoners from out-of-town to enter pleas in court; Transport arrestees from other agencies; Perform related duties as directed. Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional six months of responsible work involving public contact; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:
Knowledge of:
Learn the elementary principles of the laws of arrest and custody; Learn Municipal Court procedures; Understand oral and written instructions; Deal tactfully and firmly with the public; Communicate effectively with the others.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Occasionally stand and walk during the shift. Coordinate eye, hand, and foot movement in order to operate a vehicle.
