Level II Collin County Clerk is actively seeking candidates to fill the position of Deputy Clerk II in our criminal courts section. This position will be responsible for performing quality control reviews of all documents processed by the criminal courts. Quality control reviews include reviewing party information, judgments and sentences, verify attorney information, and confirm the Odyssey Case Management database contains correct data based on the documents filed and the information received from the courts. Ensure court costs, fines and fees have been properly assessed, ensure warrants and subpoenas have been properly executed and service fees have been added to the case as well as verifying cash and surety bonds have been properly processed. This position will also ensure all electronically filed documents meet established filing rules as set out by the Texas Supreme Court. The candidate who fills this position will also be expected to provide positive interaction with the public, judges and staff, and attorneys. Additional responsibilities will include providing back-up support for seven county court clerks by maintaining daily court dockets, providing assistance in the courtroom, processing and distributing a variety of documents including warrants, judgments and appeals, and issuing court dates. The successful candidate will have the ability to provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person to customers and attorneys, assist with researching files, answer general questions and answer phone calls. Additional responsibilities include accurately entering case information into the Odyssey case management court system, collecting and compiling court data, accurately maintaining electronic court data, accurately entering financial information including court costs, fines and fees, and sending required information to the Department of Public Safety for drivers license suspensions. Work requires strong knowledge of software applications including MS Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 or higher. Must have the ability to perform advanced data entry and scanning functions with strong accuracy and attention to detail, and must have strong customer service skills. Must possess strong organizational and communication skills and demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time. A broad knowledge of legal terminology and documents, and the court system is highly desired. Must have level of education equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency and at least two years of related experience. The ability to pass a typing test with a rate of 50 WPM is required. Ability to pass a criminal background check is required. Testing Requirements This position requires that you pass a typing test at the minimum rate specified above. If you have taken a typing test with us within the last 6 monthsthatmeets or exceeds the requirements above, you do not need to take it again. If you have never takenour typing test,have notmet the requirements above, or it has been more than 6 months since your last test, you will need to take thetestin order for your application to be complete. Typing tests are administered in the Human Resources Testing roomfrom 8:30am•4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
