Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented assistant/Deputy clerk to join our office. As an assistant clerk you will provide vital administrative and technical support to the Village clerk, managing of public records, coordinating elections (chief Inspector), and helping customers at the window. Duties The job involves tasks such as, but not limited to
Election Duties :
Assist with voter registration, early/absentee voting and ballot processing.
Licensing & Permits :
Processing and issuing various permits, such as liquor, beer, cigarette, and operator licenses. dog licenses, building permits.
Public Service :
Serving as the frontline representative for the Clerk's office, answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and responding to inquiries. Handling public records requests and assisting with open meeting compliance. Processing payments, handling mail, and providing backup administrative support to the Village Clerk. Meeting support : Help prepare and post legal notices, agendas and minutes for public meetings. Must also attend monthly board meetings on the 2nd monday of the month @ 7pm. Not limited to Skills Proven office experience with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities daily. Exceptional clerical skills including filing, data entry, and general office administration Knowledge in Microsoft excel, word, workhorse software and the ability to adapt quickly to specialized software. Customer service orientation with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally at all times Attention to detail in all aspects of work, including filing accuracy and data integrity, High attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive materials. Basic cash handling skills to support financial transactions when needed
Pay:
From $15.00 per hour
