About Us:
Established in 2006, we are a growing, local business that specializes in private and semi-private ocean safaris. We are the highest-rated boat tour company in San Diego with the most exclusive whale watching and guided tours. Adventure Whale Watching is a local, eco-tourism company that specializes in the education and conservation of marine wildlife through Whale Watching, Bay Tours, Island Tours, and all types of Custom Private charters. We are looking for an energetic new team member to help manage all aspects of the daily operations and marketing of the company.
About The Position:
We are looking for a self-motivated, highly-organized person to work in our office as an integral part of our small team to ensure the office runs smoothly day-to-day. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, customer-focused, and has a 'can do' attitude. This role is ideal for a candidate looking to develop experience in the operations of a small business and grow their marketing and management skills. There is also a chance to earn commission! Responsibilities:
Small Business Operations Create and manage the monthly schedule for all employees (office staff and captains) Captain Payroll Interview, hire, and on-board new employees Ensure company processes and procedures are followed consistently Maintain a professional and positive experience for customers and staff Prepare and deliver weekly and monthly reports to support operational tracking and decision-making Daily Office Tasks Answer the phone and respond to all emails in a timely, professional manner Provide accurate quotes and invoices for customers interested in private charters Check-in customers for tours and ensure waivers are filled out Use suggestive sales techniques to sell merchandise Inventory management
  • accurately track inventory, re-order and re-stock merchandise Partnership Management Build and maintain strong partnership with hotel concierge & hotel staff Attend weekly staff meetings with hotel
  • provide updates on our business and listen for any information relevant to our operations Marketing Upkeep and monitoring of Google Ads campaigns Manage online profiles, such as Groupon, Boatsetter, TripAdvisor, etc. Community management
  • reply to reviews and social media messages & comments Brainstorm and research new marketing avenues for company to increase exposure and number of reservations
Qualifications:
Available to work 8 am
  • 4:00 pm Monday
  • Friday Prior sales or customer service experience Preferred 1 year of marketing experience Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work with minimal supervision Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ads, WordPress, SEO, Blogging, Canva, and TikTok & Instagram are a bonus Basic math skills for merchandise sales, reporting & invoicing Preferred degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field
