Job Description

  • 95k/yr + benefits | Full-time | 8:30 AM-5:30 PM Pacific | Active CA P&C license required
  • Archer Insurance Agency is a hybrid Farmers and independent brokerage with offices in Westlake Village, CA and Farragut, TN. We're hiring a licensed Personal Lines Renewals Specialist to take ownership of our California renewal book — reviewing accounts, identifying coverage gaps, and making sure our clients are properly protected as their policies come up each year.
  • First, the filter.
  • This role requires an active California Property & Casualty license. If you're not already licensed, this isn't the right opportunity — we're not able to sponsor licensing for this position. If that's you, keep reading.
  • The role in plain terms:
  • Every month, a portion of our California personal lines book comes up for renewal.
Your job is to review each of those accounts before they renew — understand the household, look at what's covered and what isn't, identify gaps and cross-sell opportunities, and have a conversation with the client to make sure their coverage still fits their life. You'll also handle inbound service calls and support the day-to-day operation of the CA office alongside the rest of the team. This is a consultative role. You're not just processing renewals — you're acting as our clients' coverage advocate at the moment they're most likely to think about their insurance.
  • A typical week:
  • Review upcoming renewals 60-90 days out, account by account
  • Identify gaps: mono-line clients who could bundle, underinsured limits, missing umbrella coverage, life changes that warrant a policy refresh
  • Reach out to clients proactively with renewal reviews and coverage recommendations
  • Quote cross-sell opportunities and convert them into bound policies
  • Handle inbound service calls (changes, billing, questions) when they come in
  • Document everything in our CRM — every conversation, every opportunity, every outcome
  • Coordinate with our sales team on warm handoffs when needed
  • Who thrives here:
  • People who like depth, not just volume. The renewal review is a thinking job — you're piecing together a household's coverage picture, spotting what's missing, and having a real conversation about it. The CSRs who do best in this seat are organized and methodical
  • and• comfortable on the phone having consultative conversations.
If you like checking boxes but freeze up at "have we ever talked about an umbrella policy?" — this isn't your seat. If you like both the structure of working a renewal list
  • and• the satisfaction of helping a client get properly covered — you'll do well here.
  • Requirements:
  • Active CA Property & Casualty license (required, no exceptions)
  • Active CA Life & Health license (preferred but not required)
  • 2+ years of personal lines insurance experience, ideally including renewal or account management work
  • Comfort with consultative phone conversations — not high-pressure sales, but not pure order-taking either
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational habits
  • Experience with AgencyZoom or similar agency management systems is a plus
  • In-office, Monday-Friday — this is not a remote or hybrid role
