- Contract-to-Hire Are you an experienced healthcare leader with a passion for team development, operational excellence, and patient satisfaction? We are seeking a Business Office Manager to oversee a high-performing patient access team responsible for referrals, insurance verification, authorizations, and scheduling within a growing specialty practice.
- Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of 6-8 healthcare administrative professionals.
- Conduct performance management, training, and employee development initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiency.
- Manage escalated patient and insurance-related concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and patient-focused team culture. Operations Management
- Oversee the entire intake process from referral receipt through patient scheduling.
- Ensure timely processing of referrals, insurance eligibility, and prior authorizations.
- Collaborate with providers, referral sources, and internal departments to support seamless patient care.
- Monitor departmental performance and implement strategies to improve outcomes and patient experience.
- Provide hands-on support to the team while maintaining accountability for departmental results.
- Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent healthcare office management experience.
- Experience directly supervising and developing employees.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Referral management
- Insurance verification
- Prior authorizations
- Insurance eligibility
- Demonstrated success improving workflows, processes, and team performance.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a specialty healthcare practice.
- Epic EMR experience.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans.
- Background working with referrals on either the specialty or primary care provider side.
