Job Overview Interested in joining a new start-up Ophthalmology practice? We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Ophthalmology Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our ophthalmology practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in medical office management, with a strong background in healthcare administration, financial oversight, and team supervision. This role requires a proactive leader who can streamline clinic workflows, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and foster a positive environment for staff and patients alike. The Ophthalmology Office Manager will be instrumental in maintaining operational excellence, optimizing practice efficiency, and supporting high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of clinic operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and staff coordination to ensure seamless service delivery. Oversee fiscal management tasks such as budgeting, billing, coding, and financial reporting to maintain profitability and fiscal health of the practice. Supervise administrative staff, including medical administrative support personnel, nursing staff, and other team members to promote a collaborative work environment. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), JCAHO (Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations), and other relevant standards. Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Nextech, Epic, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix to manage patient records efficiently while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Coordinate with clinical providers to optimize clinic workflows and facilitate effective utilization management and managed care processes. Implement human resources policies related to staffing, training, performance evaluations, and employee development. Monitor inventory control for ophthalmic supplies and equipment to ensure operational readiness while controlling costs. Maintain high standards of medical records management and ensure adherence to HIPAA privacy guidelines. Foster a positive patient experience by ensuring excellent customer service standards are met consistently. Experience Proven experience in medical office management within ophthalmology or related healthcare fields such as dental or veterinary clinics is preferred but not needed to apply. Demonstrated supervisory experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced clinical environment. Extensive knowledge of medical administrative support functions including billing, coding (ICD-10/CPT), and electronic health record systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks. Strong background in fiscal management encompassing budgeting, financial reporting, and cost control measures. Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance, JCAHO accreditation standards, and utilization management protocols. Experience working with EMR/EHR systems specific to ophthalmology or general medical practices; proficiency in Eaglesoft or Dentrix is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to ophthalmology along with general clinical workflow understanding. Prior experience managing clinic operations within acute care settings or hospital environments is preferred but not mandatory. Pay:
$25.38 - $32.00 per hour
