BUSINESS OFFICE MANAGER
Everything we do revolves around our residents' happiness. The Business Office Manager supports the Pharmacy General Manager in following Serviam's processes and in the overall operation/performance of the Pharmacy.
Responsibilities:
Ensure Serviam policies, procedures and culture are integrated into all aspects of Pharmacy operations Complete financial processes, including Payroll, timely and accurately; utilize the appropriate information to optimize the financial health of the Pharmacy Maintain regulatory compliance Communicate proactively and effectively with residents/families/other employees to enhance their engagement Ensure there are sufficient, trained employees appropriately scheduled to meet the Pharmacy's needs Manage and communicate with employees to maximize their engagement, growth and retention Communicate/coordinate appropriately and effectively with all employees Ensure documentation is appropriately completed Work flexible hours to meet requirements of the job; Complete other duties as assigned Core Qualities The traits required to serve others in a way that instills happiness Optimistically Warm Display genuine kindness, thoughtfulness and a hospitable 'can do' attitude Curious Exhibit an inquisitive nature with a desire to improve Work Ethic Demonstrate an intrinsic responsibility to do something as well as it can possibly be done Empathetic Recognize and care about the feelings of others Self-Aware Understand yourself and how you affect others Communicator Active-listener; convey a clear, consistent and timely message Team Builder Develop each employee and create a cohesive family atmosphere Results-Driven Push self and others towards greatness
REPORTS TO
This job reports to the Pharmacy General Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has limited supervisory responsibilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Serviams's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding, disciplining and terminating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Possess initiative, good judgement, and leadership ability. Possess an understanding and compassion for the elderly. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Associates degree; or two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend documents such as regulations, policies, journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to read and write detailed correspondence in English. Ability to effectively respond to inquiries from residents, families, employees, and members of the community. Ability to use computers. Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must have a current Iowa pharmacy technician license or be eligible to register for one.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift, move, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift, move, push and/or pull up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
