$55,000 - $65,000 based off experience About the Role Oakes Auto Group is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Office Manager / Senior Accountant to oversee dealership-level accounting operations and support the financial health of the organization. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate financial reporting, managing office staff, maintaining clean schedules, and facilitating the month-end close process in a fast-paced dealership environment. Pay & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off + paid holidays Employee discounts Career growth across multiple stores Locally owned and operated Tuition reimbursement Community involvement and volunteer opportunities What You'll Do Oversee daily accounting operations including daily bank reconciliations, floorplan reconciliations, and financial reporting responsibilities Facilitate and execute month-end close processes with a goal of closing the month within four business days Manage and support office staff while helping maintain organized schedules and operational consistency Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, sales tax filings, and other accounting functions tied to dealership operations Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiency, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support operational continuity across stores What We're Looking For We are looking for a highly organized and analytical accounting professional who can confidently manage dealership accounting operations while supporting a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate brings consistency, reliability, strong communication skills, and the ability to prioritize responsibilities in a deadline-driven setting. What Makes YOU a Good Fit? You thrive in structured environments where accuracy and accountability matter You are dependable, organized, and solution-focused You can confidently manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting a team You work well independently but also communicate effectively with leadership and coworkers You can adapt quickly, stay organized during busy periods, and maintain professionalism under pressure Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean or acceptable driving record Ability to pass a standard background check Strong reliability and consistent attendance Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred 3-5 years of accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge preferred Previous leadership or management experience preferred Experience with sales tax filings and financial reporting preferred Automotive experience is helpful but not required Tekion DMS and Google Workspace experience is a plus About Oakes Auto Group Oakes Auto Group is a locally owned and rapidly growing dealership group serving the Kansas City metro.
