Job Description

CPA Firm Office Manager Doshi & Associates | Bloomfield Hills, Michigan Lead More. Organize More. Accomplish More. As you think about the next stage of your career, are you looking for an opportunity where you can make a meaningful impact on the success of an entire organization? Are you frustrated by inefficient processes, poor communication, and constantly having to clean up problems that could have been prevented? Do you enjoy bringing structure, accountability, and organization to a busy professional environment? Would you like an opportunity where your ideas are welcomed and your contributions are visible? Do you enjoy working with people and helping teams operate more effectively? Are you looking for a role that combines operations, administration, client service, billing, workflow management, and staff coordination rather than focusing on a single function? Would you like to work closely with firm leadership and play an important role in the future growth of a respected professional services firm? If you answered yes to the questions above, Doshi & Associates may be exactly what you're looking for. About Doshi & Associates For more than 50 years, Doshi & Associates has served the accounting, tax, and advisory needs of closely held businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals, and high-net-worth individuals throughout Metro Detroit. We have built a diverse and stable client base of more than 1,500 individual and business clients. Unlike many firms that depend heavily on a handful of large clients, our growth has been fueled by long-term relationships, exceptional service, and a reputation built over five decades. Today, we are building the next chapter of our firm. We recently hired John Rohman, CPA , a tax professional with more than 30 years of public accounting experience who previously served in a leadership role with a Top 25 accounting firm, to help lead the next phase of growth, strengthen operations, and support continued expansion. You will also work closely with Nisha Doshi, our Managing Partner , whose Big Four background and entrepreneurial leadership are helping build a modern, growth-oriented firm where client service, professional development, and opportunity go hand in hand. As the firm continues to grow at approximately 15% annually, we are seeking an Office Manager who can help create the structure, organization, communication, and accountability necessary to support that growth. Why This Opportunity Is Different Most office management positions focus primarily on administrative tasks. This role is different. You will serve as a key operational leader within the firm. Your work will impact workflow, client service, employee accountability, billing, collections, technology coordination, onboarding, staffing schedules, and overall office operations. You'll work closely with firm leadership to identify issues before they become problems, improve processes, strengthen communication, and help ensure that commitments to clients and deadlines are consistently met. If you enjoy bringing order to complexity, building efficient systems, and helping people work together more effectively, this position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact. The Role This position is ideal for someone with 4 to 5+ years of office management, practice administration, operations management, or similar professional services experience who is looking to take ownership of a firm's internal operations.
Responsibilities include:
Managing day-to-day office operations Coordinating workflow and deadline tracking across the firm Monitoring staff time entry and administrative compliance Coordinating billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities Managing client onboarding and offboarding processes Coordinating administrative support activities Monitoring recurring client service schedules and deadlines Maintaining office procedures and operational consistency Helping improve firm workflows and administrative processes Coordinating staff meetings, schedules, PTO calendars, and office coverage Serving as a key point of communication between leadership and staff Assisting with HR administration, onboarding, and employee documentation Coordinating relationships with vendors, IT providers, and service partners Supporting technology implementation and software administration Managing document retention and records management processes Assisting with tax season and peak workload coordination You'll play a critical role in allowing our partners and professional staff to spend more time serving clients while ensuring the firm operates efficiently behind the scenes. Our Requirements Are Stringent 4 to 5+ years of office management, operations management, practice administration, or similar experience Experience within a professional services environment strongly preferred Accounting, law, wealth management, engineering, architecture, consulting, or similar professional services background preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Experience coordinating multiple priorities and deadlines Experience with billing, collections, workflow management, or staff coordination Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities Experience with Microsoft Office Suite CRM, ERP, or practice management software experience Ability to communicate professionally with clients, staff, vendors, and leadership Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment Bachelor's degree preferred but not required Why Join Doshi & Associates? Many office managers find themselves spending most of their time reacting to problems rather than helping shape solutions. At Doshi & Associates, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside leadership that values organization, communication, accountability, and continuous improvement. You'll be joining a growing firm that is actively investing in its future. As the firm expands, you'll have the opportunity to help create the systems, processes, and operational structure that support long-term success. We believe strong performers should have a voice. We want someone who proactively identifies opportunities for improvement rather than waiting to be told what needs attention. Communication is a critical component of this role. You'll work with partners, accountants, bookkeepers, payroll staff, vendors, and clients every day. Your ability to build relationships, solve problems, and keep people informed will be essential to your success. We also recognize there are busy periods throughout the year, particularly during tax season. While the schedule is often predictable, there will be times when additional hours are needed to support the firm's workflow. Those efforts will be recognized and compensated appropriately. Simply put, this is an opportunity to play an important role in a growing firm where your contributions will be noticed and appreciated. Compensation and Benefits $75,000 to $100,000 commensurate with experience Performance-based bonus opportunities (typically 5% to 10%) Health, dental, and vision insurance PTO package Paid holidays Half-day Fridays from Memorial Day through Labor Day Ongoing professional development opportunities Collaborative and supportive work environment And more... A Final Thought Many organizations need someone to manage the office. Few organizations offer an opportunity to help shape the future of the firm. If you're looking for an opportunity where your organization, communication, and leadership abilities can make a meaningful impact, we'd welcome the opportunity to speak with you. Your next career move should do more than manage a process. It should help build something meaningful.
