On-site About the Role An established skilled nursing and rehabilitation organisation is seeking a Business Office Manager to oversee day-to-day financial and administrative activities within a residential healthcare facility. The role is responsible for resident account management, billing and collections, financial record keeping, trust accounts, petty cash and banking activities. The position also provides direct administrative support to residents and their families while ensuring financial processes are accurate, organised and handled with discretion. Key Responsibilities Manage daily accounting and financial administration for the facility. Maintain accurate individual resident financial accounts and provide account statements. Process monthly changes to resident private accounts. Prepare and distribute monthly resident cash allowances. Create and distribute monthly billing statements. Provide billing and collection support. Manage resident trust fund accounts, petty cash and related banking activities. Assist residents with completing medical assistance applications and verify eligibility information. Complete representative payee documentation for residents who are unable to do so independently. Coordinate account closure activities following a resident's death, including trust accounts, death certificates, life insurance claims, funeral expenses and final bills. Establish, maintain and update Business Office filing and record-keeping systems. Review accounts receivable and accounts payable with facility leadership on a weekly basis. Maintain accurate and organised financial documentation. Respond to resident and family enquiries relating to accounts and financial matters. Handle confidential financial and personal information with appropriate discretion. Communicate professionally and respectfully with residents, visitors, families, colleagues and supervisors. Escalate resident concerns to the appropriate department or facility leadership. Participate in departmental meetings, training and in-service programmes as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. At least 1 year of experience in an accounting or financial administration role . Experience with billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable or resident financial accounts is advantageous. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills. Ability to manage confidential financial and personal information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, respectful and compassionate approach when working with residents and families. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong administrative and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Experience within skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, assisted living or another healthcare environment. Experience with resident trust accounts, Medicaid/medical assistance applications or healthcare billing.
