Job Description

For 130 years, Episcopal Homes of Minnesota has proudly served seniors in St. Paul's Midway neighborhood. Our vibrant campus offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Skilled Nursing, and Hospice services. Residents enjoy access to amenities including a fitness center, pool, pub, theater, and gourmet dining. We are currently hiring a Business Office Manager to oversee the financial and administrative operations of our senior living community. This role is responsible for resident billing, accounts receivable, collections, financial recordkeeping, and business office administration while ensuring accurate financial processes, compliance, and exceptional customer service for residents and families.
Wage:
$60,000-$65,000/yr
Schedule:
Full-Time | Monday-Friday What You'll Do Oversee daily business office operations, including resident billing, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation. Ensure accurate and timely processing of resident statements, payments, adjustments, and financial records. Manage collection processes while maintaining professionalism and resident dignity. Coordinate with finance and operational teams to support accurate financial reporting and account management. Respond to resident and family inquiries regarding billing, insurance, statements, and account concerns. Support budget tracking, financial reporting, and audit preparation. Supervise, train, and support business office staff. Maintain financial documentation and reporting systems in compliance with organizational standards. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies. Identify opportunities to improve business office processes, internal controls, and customer service outcomes. What We're Looking For High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Experience in business office operations, billing, accounting, accounts receivable, or financial administration. Previous experience supervising or leading administrative staff. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with financial systems, billing software, Microsoft Office, and related business applications. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Experience in senior living, healthcare, long-term care, or affordable housing. Experience with resident billing, private pay accounts, insurance billing, or third-party payer systems. Experience supporting audits, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance activities. Knowledge of accounts receivable management, collections, and reconciliation processes. Experience with electronic health records, resident management systems, or healthcare billing platforms. Physical Requirements Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based and financial tasks. Ability to use office equipment and perform frequent data entry and computer work. Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically. Work Environment and Reporting Work is primarily performed in an office environment within a senior living community. Frequent interaction with residents, families, staff, and finance teams. Exposure to confidential financial and personal information requiring discretion and professionalism. Occasional increased workload during month-end close, audits, and budget cycles. Maintains a resident-centered approach while supporting the financial health of the organization.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
