Job Description
Position Summary The Church Office Administrator manages daily office operations, provides administrative support to the pastor (and to deacons in the pastor's absence) and other staff, and serves as the primary receptionist. This role ensures efficient office functioning and a welcoming environment for members, visitors, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Office Administration Serve as primary receptionist: answer phones, screen messages, update voicemail, greet visitors, and manage incoming mail (USPS). Manage office correspondence and general communications. Order and maintain office and literature supplies. Maintain and organize office files and records. Update the weekly prayer list. Supervise additional office personnel as needed. Worship Preparation Prepare weekly worship bulletins and order of service. Update pew materials and printed information as required. Scheduling & Facility Coordination Maintain and publish the church calendar for meetings, events, and facility use. Administer church policies and procedures for facility usage, including fellowship hall and van scheduling. Record Keeping & Financial Support Maintain and update membership databases. Reconcile credit card statements and provide supporting documentation/receipts. Post receipts and disbursements in accordance with bookkeeping procedures, as needed. Communication & Outreach Manage email communications and newsletters. Update church website, social media, and electronic signage. Coordinate with architects, contractors, and vendors during building projects, remodeling, or repairs. Pastoral & Staff Support Assist the pastor with correspondence, reports, and scheduling for pastoral care. Perform other duties as requested by the pastor.
Required Skills & Qualifications Education:
High school diploma required. Administrative or office management experience (minimum three years preferred).Faith:
Active, personal Christian faith demonstrated in daily conduct and decision‑making.Technical:
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Publisher, Excel) and/or Google Workspace; familiarity with database and basic graphics software preferred.Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Confidentiality:
Proven ability to handle sensitive pastoral and member information discreetly.Organization:
Strong multitasking skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.Interpersonal:
Professional, hospitable demeanor when interacting with members, guests, vendors, and delivery personnel.Reporting Structure Reports to:
Pastor (or designated church leadership). This is a position within a religious organization; employment is subject to the church's religious requirements.Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hourBenefits:
