Job Description

Shore Building Contractors, Inc (SBC) is a well-established union carpentry and construction subcontractor based in Mays Landing, NJ - proudly serving the region for over 30 years. We're looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper / Office Administrator to join our small, close-knit team. This is a hands-on role where you'll provide essential office support across multiple active projects.
What You'll Do:
Accounting & Payroll payroll processing union reporting & payments weekly payroll tax reporting & payments Bank Deposits & daily ACH payments sales & use tax reporting Office & Compliance Assist PM with developing, sending & tracking monthly AIA billing Business license renewals Vehicle & Equipment Registrations, Insurance & EZ Pass Certificates of Insurance & bonds Contractor Pre-qualifications Insurance Claims & Injury reporting New job set up General Clerical Support What we're looking for 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (construction industry a strong plus) Proficiency in SAGE accounting software Familiarity with certified payroll, union payroll & prevailing wage Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines Comfortable working independently in a steady-paced office Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general office software/equipment What we offer Competitive pay commensurate with experience Stable, Full-time position with an established local company Refreshing and supportive office enviroment Collaborative, low-drama team that values consistency & reliability Opportunity to grow within the company as we expand
