Adobe Acrobat Full Job Description Local Union Bookkeeper/Office Administrator Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, and payroll entries. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring deadlines are met. Cash management responsibilities (record deposits) Cash disbursement responsibilities (checks, ACH, Wires) Perform bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting. Support the preparation of financial statements, reports, and supporting schedules. Assist with internal and external audits by providing requested documentation. Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and regulatory requirements. Identify process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance efficiency.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Positive attitude with a proactive mindset General understanding of accounting practices and procedures. Excellent organizational, communication, and math skills Self-motivated to keep required tasks completed on time Multi-task with attention to detail Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Comfortable learning new software as well as proficiency in QuickBooks, Adobe Acrobat, Outlook, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Ability to adapt to departmental needs and willingness to learn new skills during the continuous growth of the Union.
Education/Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with some bookkeeping coursework. Associate's/ Bachelor's degree preferred. Three to five years of related experience is required.
Union Knowledge:
Familiarity with trade union values, principles, and structures. Experience with QuickBooks software is a plus. Working Conditions •
Environment:
Professional office environment, often requiring sitting for extended periods and occasional lifting of office supplies (up to 25-50 lbs.). •
Hours:
Generally, Monday through Friday, standard business hours (8am-5pm), but may require 2ND Wednesday of the month 8:30am-5:30pm.
Compensation:
Competitive Salary $24-28/hr. Comprehensive healthcare packages. Pension plans or other retirement benefits. Paid time off and holidays.
