Job Description

Overview Christ United Methodist Church is located in Lansdale, a suburb of Philadelphia with a multigenerational congregation of 400 plus members. Average attendance is 175 weekly with online offerings. We have active children's and youth programs that provide ample opportunities for community participation. We actively support local organizations and the work of our denomination at the global, conference, and local levels. The church is financially sound. We emphasize education, small groups, and mission outreach. We have a self-sufficient, active preschool and we continue to grow our impact in the community. The Music Ministry is a significant element of worship and enjoys large participation in many choral, bell, and children's and youth music choirs.

Transforming lives in the love of Jesus Christ Reports to : Senior Pastor and Staff-Parish Relations Committee Requirements High School Diploma Strong writing and communication skills Excellent computer skills with proficiency in software such as E-mail clients, Word, Quick Books, Excel, Canva, Google applications and financial management software. Ability to work independently, manage staff and be part of a team Discretion in handling confidential information Successful completion of safe sanctuary training and child abuse clearances (state criminal background, child line, and FBI Preferred Skills Prior bookkeeping experience including management experience A working knowledge of Desktop Publishing and office equipment and facility maintenance contracts Prior administrative assistant experience Working knowledge of Excel Basic understanding of marketing, social media and advertising
Hours :
30-35 hours/week in church office
Salary:
$33,000-$35,000 based on experience Responsibilities 1. Provide administrative support to Pastors, other staff and church members. 2. Bookkeeping, copying, recordkeeping, filing, produce monthly financial reports and monthly preschool reports. 3. Work with outside vendors for office equipment contracts and rental agreements. 4. Supervise administrative assistant, custodian and oversee cleaning service. 5. Maintain the office calendar and church facility calendar. 6. Answer phone, greet visitors and direct them to appropriate staff. 7. Review incoming office manager emails. 8. Review Building Use Form submissions and present to Trustees for approval. 9. Supervise vendors if work being done inside the building during preschool hours. 10. Prepare and submit conference reports - Fund Balance Report and Statistical Report. 11. Submit all committee reports through conference software (currently Arena) prior to annual Charge Conference. 12. Acknowledge all IRA and memorial gifts and track for Finance Committee. Set up memorial accounts as needed. 13. Order office supplies. 14. Prepare annual audit on membership rolls. Follow-up with staff and church members to meet deadlines. 15. Maintain Key Log - sign-outs and sign-ins and keep paperwork in order. 16. Attend monthly evening church meetings. (Finance and Trustees) 17. Perform monthly audit on Grocery Card Inventory; cut checks to grocery vendors as requested to replenish inventory; maintain grocery card spreadsheet (including all formulas). 18. Perform daily security walk to verify all lights turned off, doors locked, et. 19. Attend Staff meetings. 20. Perform other duties as assigned.

$33,000.00 - $35,000.00 per year
