Job Description
Church Part-time Administrative Assistant St. George's United Methodist Church, in Fairfax (https://stgeorgesfairfax.org) is looking for a friendly and dynamic part-time administrative assistant supporting the front office of the church. St George's UMC is a warm, welcoming, and inclusive congregation and we are looking for the front office support to aid us in our mission of building connection and serving the community. Responsibilities include greeting and directing visitors, vendors, and guests, such as wedding parties, recitals, and organizations using church space, supporting the pastor and church staff by answering the phone and coordinating communications, including updates to the church website, maintaining and managing the online church calendar, processing and follow-up regarding building use requests, flyers, announcements, weekly church bulletins, and periodic newsletters, as well as some office management support. Strong word processing and document production skills are required (including MS Word, Canva, Excel, Publisher and Outlook). Excellent command of the English language is expected. Experience ordering office supplies, processing bills and payments, managing the church calendar and space coordinating for building use are ideal. Previous experience with Breeze (church management software) is ideal but not required. Minimum high school diploma required. Required hours are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., with flexible hours on Fridays and the potential for remote telework to total between 10-15 hours per week.
