Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, full-time Administrative and Bookkeeper person to join our team for this newly created role. The ideal candidate will perform various office administration tasks and understanding of (QuickBooks) accounting software. Although this is an in-office position in Farmington, CT, there is also the potential for a hybrid office/work-from-home workweek, once fully acclimated and based on an as-needed basis.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of administrative and bookkeeping services, including but not limited to:
Administrative Duties:
Receiving and scanning client data for tax return preparation by our professional staff, data entry for tax reporting (i.e. 1099s), direct client communications, assist with special projects and other office administrative duties as needed, identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with their implementation and occasionally greet local clients during tax season
Bookkeeping Duties:
Manage QuickBooks online and desktop applications for certain select clients, including data entry of banking transactions, bank account reconciliation, assignment to proper general ledger category, and other tasks to assure accurate monthly reporting of financial data to both clients and for firm use at the end of the year

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
Accounting, bookkeeping and/or administrative work experience is required Proficiency or working knowledge of various computer software applications: QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel & Word are required; tax preparation software is a plus, but not required Organizational and time management skills, with an attention to detail Quality written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively Adherence to the highest level of confidentiality Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
