Business Office Manager (BOM)
Job Summary:
HireCare Services - Rhode Island is seeking an experienced and organized Business Office Manager (BOM) to join our team in Coventry, RI. As the Business Office Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day business office functions of the facility, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll support, billing, collections, resident accounts, and financial recordkeeping. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Office Manager who understands healthcare financial operations and wants to make a meaningful impact in a skilled nursing facility setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily business office operations for the facility Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, billing, and resident accounts Oversee Medicaid, Medicare, private pay, and insurance-related billing processes as applicable Monitor collections, outstanding balances, and resident financial accounts Communicate professionally with residents, families, vendors, and internal leadership regarding billing, payments, and account questions Supervise, support, and train administrative/business office staff as needed Assist with month-end close, financial reporting, and business office audits Develop, implement, and maintain financial policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to support strong financial performance Coordinate with department heads to support budgeting, resource allocation, and operational needs Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, facility policies, and quality standards Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all financial and resident-related records Promote teamwork, accountability, and a professional work environment
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Experienced in
Healthcare Business Office Operations:
Understands the financial and administrative needs of a nursing home, skilled nursing, or long-term care facility
Detail-Oriented:
Maintains accurate records and follows through on billing, collections, payroll, and reporting tasks
Organized and Reliable:
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Strong Communicator:
Comfortable working with residents, families, staff, vendors, and leadership
Financially Skilled:
Has strong knowledge of billing, budgeting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting
Team-Oriented:
Works well with facility leadership and department heads to support overall facility operations
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a business office, billing, finance, or administrative role in a healthcare setting required Experience in a nursing home, skilled nursing facility, or long-term care setting strongly preferred Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, billing, collections, and budgeting Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
