We are seeking an experienced Business Office Manager (BOM) who is passionate about supporting exceptional resident care through sound financial operations, accurate billing, and efficient business office management. Position Summary The Business Office Manager (BOM) is responsible for overseeing the facility's business office operations, including billing, collections, accounts receivable, admissions/intake financial processing, and resident trust fund management. This position ensures accurate and timely reimbursement from Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private payers while maintaining compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations. This position reports directly to the Administrator. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred Minimum of 2 years of experience in a business office or billing role, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Managed Care billing and reimbursement processes Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Computer proficiency, including experience with billing/EMR software and Microsoft Excel Preferred Previous experience as a Business Office Manager or Revenue Cycle Manager in a skilled nursing facility Knowledge of PointClickCare or similar long-term care billing systems Experience with accounts receivable management and denial/appeals processes Familiarity with resident trust fund administration and Medicaid pending processes Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day operations of the business office Manage billing and collections for Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care, and private pay accounts Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances in a timely manner Prepare and submit accurate claims and resolve billing discrepancies or denials Process new resident admissions financially, including insurance verification and Medicaid applications Manage resident trust fund accounts in compliance with regulatory requirements Reconcile daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including MDS/Care Planning, to support accurate reimbursement Communicate with families, residents, and payers regarding billing questions and account status Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal billing regulations Support audits and provide documentation as needed Train and support business office staff as applicable Maintain accurate and organized financial and resident records What We're Looking For Organized and detail-oriented Skilled in financial and billing processes Knowledgeable in long-term care reimbursement regulations Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and priorities A strong communicator and problem-solver Committed to accuracy and integrity in financial operations Physical Requirements Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment within a skilled nursing facility Ability to use office equipment and computer systems for extended periods
