Job Description

Johnson County Healthcare Center is seeking a Hospital Business Office Manager to lead the people and processes that support the financial health of our hospital, Susie Bowling Lawrence Hospice, and Amie Holt Care Center. Reporting to the CFO, you'll oversee billing and revenue cycle operations, develop your team, and help patients navigate their billing experience with clarity and care. Non-Exempt Key Essential Functions Direct business office operations, including patient billing, accounts receivable, insurance claims, denials management, and collections. Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate business office staff, fostering accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement. Maintain compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and payer requirements; coordinate internal and external audits. Monitor reimbursement and billing changes to improve accuracy and reduce billing errors and write-offs. Manage the JCHC Chargemaster and update pricing as directed by the CFO or leadership guidelines. Oversee cash receipts, deposits, and reconciliation; prepare financial reports and analyze revenue cycle performance. Resolve complex patient billing concerns and collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve workflows and the patient experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies and Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing requirements. Familiarity with revenue cycle management best practices. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership and staff development capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and healthcare financial systems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred . Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience with hospital billing systems and electronic medical records (EMR). Minimum of 2-3 years of leadership or management experience . Pay:
$38.79 - $44.61 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
