Full Job Description Bessemer City School System School Attendance Secretary Job Title:
Attendance Secretary Reports to:
Principal Qualifications:
College or business office experience Typing skills Computer skills, including knowledge of data base management Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Performance Responsibilities:
Records attendance information Maintains records of Student Incident Reports (SIR) Completes all state required forms Answers office telephone and conveys messages Sorts and distributes incoming mail Types a variety of material, including correspondence for the Principal and/or Assistant Principals, various reports to the Central Office, statistical reports, court reports, notices to parents and teachers, school directory, etc. Maintains regular filing system and processes incoming correspondence as instructed Receives and checks attendance register and submits attendance reports in a timely manner to the appropriate office Assists in the checking in and out of students daily, and contacts parent or guardian of ill/injured students Greets all visitors courteously, determines their needs, and directs them to proper person. Also, reports immediately the presence in the building of any unauthorized person and/or any suspicious activity, and informs the Principal of any problem Makes copies of various materials as required Assists in the preparation of packets for teachers at the beginning of the school year, which includes all supplies and information needed to begin the year Is regular in attendance and on task during working hours Attend all workshops, professional development activities, etc Performs such other duties as may be assigned or required
Terms of Employment:
Eleven (11) month contract (222 days)
