JOB DESCRIPTION

To manage the initial contact between the school district and the community via telecommunications and personal interaction. To assist in providing for the medical needs of the district's students and in maintaining good health and good health practices in the school system.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

High School Graduate or GED, and previous experience in receptionist and clerical duties or the exhibited desire and ability to perform the required duties. Fluency in writing, speaking and reading Spanish preferred.

DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBiLITIES:

Practice good telephone communication, answering promptly and courteously, assisting the caller as appropriate, transferring calls and relaying messages accurately and timely, and performing other telephone-related duties as required.

Provide health-related services (including assisting with toileting students) for the district's students and staff under the supervision of the School Nurse.

Assist with student registrations in regard to immunizations and health concerns.

Assist the School Nurse in administering first aid as needed to the district's students and staff.

Inform the School Nurse of medications and treatment needing to be administered to the district's students and staff Prepare and maintain all required records and paperwork on students, on daily first aid performed, and all additional records required.

Practice good public relations techniques with students, staff, administration and parents, demonstrating a cordial and friendly manner.

Act as a liaison between the school and district and the students, staff and community.

Greet the public, answer questions, direct office traffic and courteously resolve public contact situations.

Sign in and provide an identification badge to all visitors before they are allowed to visit anyone on the school facility.

Assist in maintaining control and order in the offices and reception areas.

Perform translation and interpretation services as required.

Maintain and submit reports to supervisors as required.

Provide clerical type services as needed, i.e., typing, copying, filing, faxing, word processing, recordkeeping, etc.

Practice professionalism and confidentiality in all matters dealing with performance of duties.

Perform all job responsibilities as directed and developed by your immediate supervisor.

Assist parents and the public in understanding school-related information.

Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to fifty (50) pounds, such as boxes, supplies, etc. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and to interact with the public and other staff.
