One (1) Administrative Assistant to the Principal at Heritage Middle School. This is a full-time position (12 months) with benefits. The Chino Valley Unified School District is on a 4-day work week Monday through Thursday.TITLE:

Under direct supervision of the Superintendent, Assistant Director, Director or Principal this position provides administrative and secretarial support for their respective departments. In addition to typing, filing and scheduling will perform duties such as financial record keeping, meeting and conference coordination, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailings and working on special projects. Also, answers non-routine correspondence and assembles highly confidential and sensitive information. Deals with a diverse group of important external callers and visitors as well as internal contact at all levels of the organization. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize a diversified workload. Recommends changes in office practice or procedures.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules and organizes complex activities such as meetings, travel, conferences and department activities. Performs desktop publishing. Creating and developing visual presentations for the respective departments. Establishes, develops, maintains and updates filing system for the department or school. Retrieves information from files when needed. Organizes and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls. Sorts and distributes mail. Responds to regularly occurring requests for information. Act as a liaison with other departments or schools and outside agencies. Handles confidential and non-routine information and explains policies when necessary. Performs related work when required.QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
Must have a high level of interpersonal skill to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Work requires extensive knowledge of school district and an excellent command of the English language. Must have knowledge of secretarial, office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment, at a level generally acquired through 1+ years of related experience. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office programs applications: word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software. Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work. Work requires attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. Duties require a high degree of independent decision making, confidentiality acumen and personal initiative. Applicant must work with limited direction, have exceptional organizational skills and be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with frequent interruptions.EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of college desirable or work experience in school district.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess or be able to obtain an Arizona (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.WORK ENVIRONMENT
