The Children's Program Assistant works directly with the Sharon Manor Children's Program Coordinator to assist with coordinating and operating Sharon Manor's weekly children's group weekly in the evenings. Group currently occurs on Tuesday evenings. This includes set up, tear down, as well as working directly with kids and volunteers to assist with activities, crafts, snack preparation, and other needs of the program. Occasionally, this position is asked to assist with additional special events, such as holiday events for the families being housed at Sharon Manor. Children can range from infancy all the way into late adolescence and are all current or past residents of Sharon Manor.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Punctual and consistent attendance at weekly children's group on a scheduled basis, determined by the Children's Program Coordinator
- Supervision of children in the program, with an emphasis on safety, trauma-informed care, and age-appropriate interactions.
- Assisting with pre-group set up and post-group clean up
- Chaperone during special events or field trips, as needed.
- Care-taking of infants and small children, including diaper-changes and feeding of young or disabled children, where necessary
Minimum Qualifications:
A successful candidate will demonstrate patience and empathy and have prior experience working with children. Applicants must be able to pass a background check and obtain a fingerprint clearance card before starting employment.Job Type:
