Principal or Designated Supervisor SUMMARY:
Works under the direction of a secretary or designated staff member to perform a wide variety of tasks associated with an office environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer the telephone in a courteous manner. Perform usual office routines and practices associated with a busy yet productive and smoothly run office. Serve as back-up to the school secretary when absent. Maintain a schedule of appointments and make arrangement for conferences and interviews. Disperse information upon request by the teachers or parents as to the routine operation of the school. Type written communications as needed by the supervisor. Distribute teacher and staff mail. Register and withdraw students. Write student attendance slips, homework requests, passes, etc. Record and maintain attendance on all students. Contacts parents when students are absent. Assist with classroom concerns, student telephone calls. Maintain a substitute teacher log and pertinent records. Obtain, gather and organize data as needed and put in useable form. Maintain a daily record of time worked and notify the appropriate individual before a planned absence. Assume responsibility for first aid services in the absence of the school medical assistant. Collect time records on all personnel, if applicable. Keep materials and office area in an orderly and clean manner. Order and maintain supplies as needed, Maintain a filing system. Maintain office equipment. Follow district policies and procedures as adopted by the Governing Board. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School graduate Related experience or training Ability to operate specific office equipment
SCOPE AND SALARY
210 day position as an at-will hourly employee based on the support staff salary schedule, with holidays and benefits according to district policy.
