Job Description

Overview A highly capable full-time house manager / personal assistant is sought for a private, UHNW family of three (consisting of 2 principals and 1 baby) based in Atherton, California. The family have a second property in Los Altos, which will also require administrative oversight. The current household staff includes a live-in nanny. The family are also open to candidates starting in a part-time capacity and moving to full-time, if they prefer. This role is ideal for an experienced private-service professional seeking a long-term engagement, with significant autonomy to establish systems and processes from the ground up. As this is a newly created position, the successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to shape the role, implement best practices, and make a meaningful long-term impact while working as part of a lean, high-performing household team. Responsibilities House Management (approximately 75 % of the role) The primary focus of the position will be overseeing and managing the family's 7,000 sq. ft. residence and 1-acre property. Manage approximately 20 household vendors, including gardeners, pool maintenance providers, cleaners, and other service professionals. Coordinate annual maintenance schedules for key household systems and equipment, including the well, generator, HVAC systems, refrigeration, and other appliances. Evaluate vendors and oversee larger household projects, such as security upgrades, renovations, and design improvements. Conduct research and implement household projects, including babyproofing and other family-related initiatives. Manage household shopping, groceries, and supplies. Coordinate weekly meal deliveries, laundry services, and dry-cleaning pick-up/drop-off. Receive, organize, unbox, and return packages as needed. Review and organize invoices, ensuring accuracy and identifying any discrepancies. Proactively identify and resolve household issues (e.g., replacing appliance filters, troubleshooting internet outages, arranging repairs, etc.). Family Office Maintain calendars and schedules related to household administration and family affairs, including: Property tax deadlines Vehicle registrations Insurance renewals Travel documentation (e.g., Global Entry) Driver's licenses and passports LLC and other entity compliance requirements PA Coordinate approximately 10 family trips per year. Manage and coordinate nanny coverage as needed. Assist with event planning and execution. Provide personal scheduling support and personal shopping assistance. Qualifications Previous experience supporting UHNW families, particularly within the technology, venture capital, or entrepreneurial sectors. Experience working with families with young children is highly desirable. Strong network of trusted vendors and service providers. Hands-on, resourceful, and capable of establishing systems and processes from the ground up. Comfortable operating within a lean, high-performing household team rather than a large staffed environment. Exceptionally detail-oriented, organized, discreet, and trustworthy. Requirements Valid U.S. Passport, Green Card, or Employment Authorization Card (EAC). Available to start as soon as possible. Must reside locally to Atherton or within an easy commuting distance. Prior experience working in UHNW private residences is required Personality Calm, warm, personable, professional, and low-ego demeanor. Comfortable working in an occupied family home and engaging appropriately with family members. High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail. Proactive and self-directed, with the ability to anticipate needs and identify opportunities to improve household operations. Hard-working, resourceful, and solution-oriented. Salary and Benefits $180k+ plus highly competitive medical stipend (tax free) The family are also open to the candidate starting in a part-time capacity, if they prefer, and moving to full-time in due course.
