Job Description
As the key public servant for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians, the CAO will oversee Tribal Administration leadership, including Tribal Services, Morongo School, Facilities, Reservation Services, Emergency Services, Human Resources, and Information Technology. The CAO will establish, implement, monitor and maintain programs and administrative policies that carry out the objectives of the Tribal Council. He or she serves as the principal administrative and policy advisor to the Tribal Council and appoints, directs, supervises and evaluates responsible senior officials for the management of Morongo Programs. General direction will be provided by the Tribal Council. On a day-to-day basis, administrative direction is provided by the Chair of the Tribal Council. Serve as senior policy advisor to the Tribal Council on Tribal Administration matters. Appoint, direct, supervise, motivate, discipline, and evaluate key personnel, in accordance with the policies, practices and traditions of the Band. Develop and implement goals, objectives, policies, and priorities to carry out the programs and policies of the Tribal Council.
