Calexico, California About NOR Living NOR Living provides specialized residential services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who may have complex behavioral, medical, and support needs. Our Community Crisis Home (CCH) provides structured, person-centered services designed to promote safety, stabilization, independence, and successful community living. NOR Living is seeking an experienced and dependable Assistant Administrator to support the daily operation of our Community Crisis Home in Calexico. Position Summary The Assistant Administrator works directly with the Administrator to oversee daily facility operations, staffing, client services, documentation, training, and regulatory compliance. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Assistant Administrator must be prepared to provide administrative oversight while also supporting staff and individuals on the floor when needed. The successful candidate must have experience working in an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) or comparable licensed residential setting and must meet the certification requirements listed below. REQUIRED
Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Experience supporting individuals with significant behavioral needs. Previous supervisory, Lead DSP, Assistant Administrator, Administrator, or other residential leadership experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of positive behavior supports, crisis prevention, de-escalation, and emergency intervention procedures. Ability to read, understand, and implement Individual Program Plans (IPPs), Individual Behavior Support Plans (IBSPs), Emergency Intervention Plans (EIPs), physician orders, and other individual-specific plans. Strong documentation, organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to supervise and provide direction to employees across AM, PM, and NOC shifts. Ability to respond professionally and effectively during behavioral and medical emergencies. Must meet applicable California Community Care Licensing and program requirements. Must successfully complete all required background clearances. Valid California driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Current CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain required certification before working independently. Ability to successfully complete NOR Living's required emergency intervention/crisis prevention training. Candidates who do not currently possessDSP I, DSP II, RBT
certification, and ARF experience will not meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Administrator with the overall daily operation of the Community Crisis Home. Help maintain compliance with applicable Community Care Licensing (CCL), Department of Developmental Services (DDS), Regional Center, Title 17, Title 22, and NOR Living policies and procedures . Provide direct supervision, coaching, training, and support to Leads and Direct Support Professionals. Assist with maintaining required staffing levels and appropriate coverage across all shifts. Participate in employee onboarding, orientation, training, competency verification, and ongoing performance monitoring. Ensure staff appropriately implement each individual's IPP, IBSP, EIP, medical orders, and other approved support plans. Review daily documentation, behavior data, medication records, shift notes, incident documentation, and facility logs for accuracy and completion. Assist with Special Incident Reports (SIRs), emergency intervention documentation, post-restraint documentation, debriefings, and required notifications. Participate in interdisciplinary and planning meetings with Regional Center representatives, behavior consultants, nurses, physicians, families, and other members of the individual's support team. Assist with medication-management oversight and ensure physician orders and medication procedures are followed. Conduct facility inspections and promptly address health, safety, maintenance, and compliance concerns. Assist with preparation for CCL inspections, Regional Center reviews, DDS monitoring, quality-assurance reviews, and other audits. Support staff with implementation of behavioral strategies, reinforcement systems, and positive behavior supports. Respond to behavioral and medical emergencies and provide leadership during crisis situations. Ensure emergency interventions are implemented according to approved plans, required training, and applicable regulations. Maintain professional communication with individuals, families, employees, consultants, Regional Center personnel, licensing representatives, and community partners. Assist with staff performance concerns, corrective actions, scheduling issues, call-outs, and follow-up training. Maintain confidentiality and appropriately safeguard client information. Serve as the responsible administrative contact when the Administrator is unavailable or as assigned. Participate in the facility's on-call rotation. Provide direct support and floor coverage when operationally necessary. Perform additional administrative and operational responsibilities necessary to maintain a safe, compliant, and high-quality residential program. Schedule and Availability This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexibility based on the needs of the Community Crisis Home. The Assistant Administrator must be able to respond to facility needs during evenings, weekends, holidays, staff call-outs, emergencies, and other situations requiring administrative support. On-call participation is required. Ideal Candidate NOR Living is seeking a hands-on leader who understands the responsibilities of operating a highly structured residential program.
