A core part of our mission is creating inclusive opportunities by engaging and supporting adults with developmental disabilities as active volunteers in meaningful community service. One of our key programs, Community Heart - Feed the Need , operates a food pantry that serves local families while providing structured volunteer opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to build skills, confidence, and community connection. Position Summary We are seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and motivated Secretary to support the daily administrative operations of Express Workforce Foundation. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, mission-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced nonprofit environment while supporting inclusive volunteer programming. The position plays a critical role in administrative coordination, executive support, grant research and writing, and community outreach support. Key ResponsibilitiesAdministrative & Executive Support Provide administrative and personal assistant support to executive leadership Manage calendars, scheduling, emails, phone calls, and correspondence Prepare documents, reports, meeting notes, and organizational materials Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems Assist with compliance documentation, contracts, and nonprofit records Grant Writing & Development Research grant opportunities aligned with the foundation's mission Write, edit, and submit grant proposals, letters of intent, and reports Track grant deadlines, submissions, awards, and reporting requirements Collaborate with leadership to gather program data, outcomes, and narratives Program & Volunteer Support Assist with coordination of Community Heart - Feed the Need food pantry operations Support volunteer scheduling and documentation, including adults with developmental disabilities Help prepare materials and instructions for inclusive volunteer participation Communicate professionally with partners, donors, vendors, and community agencies General Office & Nonprofit Support Assist with data entry, spreadsheets, and basic reporting Support fundraising efforts, events, and outreach activities Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times Qualifications Experience in administrative support, executive assistance, or office management Grant writing experience strongly preferred (or willingness to learn) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Compassion, patience, and comfort working with adults with developmental disabilities Alignment with nonprofit and community-service values Preferred (but not required) Previous nonprofit experience Familiarity with grant portals and funder reporting Experience working with volunteer programs or social-service organizations Work Environment Mission-driven, community-focused nonprofit setting Collaborative and supportive team environment Opportunity to make a direct impact in the community Why Join Us Be part of a meaningful nonprofit making a real difference Support inclusive programs that empower adults with developmental disabilities Help sustain vital community services through grants and organization Grow professionally in nonprofit administration and development If you want, I can: Tailor this for Indeed vs. a grant proposal Add pay range & hours Rewrite it as part-time or full-time Make a shorter "Indeed-optimized" version Add EEO / nonprofit compliance language
