Join our team! The Probation Department is seeking an Office Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of the department and serve the County of Colusa. This recruitment will be used to fill a current vacancy and establish an eligibility list to fill other openings without reposting. What's this Job All About? As an Office Assistant, you'll provide essential administrative and clerical support to the Probation Department and serve as a welcoming first point of contact for clients, visitors, staff, and the public. You'll assist with greeting and directing visitors, data entry, typing, special projects, inventory and ordering supplies, processing payments, and other general office duties. Office Assistant I Receives general supervision from supervisory or management staff. Office Assistant II Receives general supervision from supervisory or management staff. May exercise functional and technical supervision over lower-level clerical staff. Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:

Office Assistant I Experience:

Six (6) months of administrative/clerical experience.

Training:

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.

Office Assistant II Experience:

Three years of responsible clerical experience which included public contact/customer service.

Training:

Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade. Supplemental coursework or training in business administration or clerical is highly desired .
