Employment Type:
 Full-time, project-based contract with potential for future opportunities. Position Summary Project-based contract with the possibility of additional projects or permanent hire based on performance. We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medicare Administrative Assistant to support daily office operations, patient intake, and Medicare-related documentation. This in-person role is essential to ensuring that patients receive seamless administrative support for their healthcare coverage, appointments, and billing inquiries. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and a strong commitment to patient confidentiality and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Serve as the first point of contact for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers in a front-office setting. Assist patients with Medicare enrollment, eligibility verification, and benefit explanations. Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments and transportation services as needed. Maintain and update patient records in electronic health systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA and Medicare regulations. Process and submit Medicare claims, referrals, and prior authorization requests. Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding coverage, claims status, and billing. Collect and process co-pays, deductibles, and other patient payments. Prepare and distribute correspondence, reports, and administrative documents. Collaborate with clinical and transportation teams to ensure coordinated patient care. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a healthcare or Medicare-related setting. Familiarity with Medicare guidelines, CMS regulations, and medical billing terminology. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health records (EHR) systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate and professional demeanor when interacting with elderly, disabled, or diverse patient populations. Ability to pass background check and drug screening. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds (e.g., office supplies, files). Manual dexterity for keyboarding and handling paperwork.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
