Alsip, Hazelgreen & Oak Lawn School District 126 12 Month Secretary Vacancy at Lane School Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient in computer skills and routine office equipment Preferred Bilingual in Spanish or Arabic Prior secretarial experience Duties and Responsibilities Organize, coordinate and schedule a variety of office activities to assist the Principal with administrative tasks; prepare and accurately maintain a variety of reports, records and files relating to students, staff, budgets, operations and activities Must exhibit discretion and complete confidentiality on sensitive school matters Ability to work independently while also serving as secretary to Principal Schedule appointments and meetings as requested by Principal Receive, open, and route mail to appropriate personnel Maintain records of all building funds and issue checks as required to reimburse accounts; balance and reconcile accounts, verify appropriate and authorized use of designated funds Request subs as needed on daily basis Order supplies, distribute appropriately and maintain proper paperwork for business office Produce and retain records for student attendance, enrollment, personnel and payroll information required from business office Enter appropriate information in student management system Process requisitions and distribute office materials and supplies; maintain materials and equipment inventory as assigned Collect and account for money collected in conjunction with school activities; secure money and process according to established procedures Orient new and substitute teachers; provide directions, keys and instructional materials Demonstrate excellent public relation skills while working within a diverse population of students, staff, parents and community members Exhibit proficiency in meeting schedules and timelines Physical Requirements Work is performed while standing, sitting and/or walking Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision and hearing Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights, up to 30 pounds The employee should have the physical capabilities to perform the job functions Email To A Friend Print Version Postings current as of 9/5/2026 12:39:18 AM CST.
