REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
  • Any combination equivalent to: a High School diploma supplemented by two (2) years college-level course work in business, secretarial science or related field and four (4) years of progressive administrative-level experience performing secretarial, clerical and general office management work for an administrator.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
  • May require a valid California Driver's License.
  • May require First-Aid/CPR Certification.
Knowledge of:
  • Operation of office machines including computer equipment and specified software.
  • Modern office practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Alpha and numeric filing systems.
  • Record-keeping techniques.
  • Financial and statistical record-keeping techniques.
  • Basic budgeting practices regarding monitoring and control.
  • Correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation and vocabulary.
  • Telephone techniques and etiquette.
  • Sections of applicable laws.
  • Operations, procedures, specific rules and precedents of the office.
  • Organization, functions, rules, procedures and programs of the department to which assigned.
  • Basic objectives, organization and functioning of a school district and relationships to state law and other school organizations.
