Safety Admin Assistant Monzon & Son Lynwood, CA Job Details Full-time $21 - $24 an hour 4 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Paid sick time Qualifications Filing Administrative experience Attention to detail Data entry Organizational skills Full Job Description Monzon & Son Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented DOT Safety Administrative Assistant to support our Safety Department and Class A commercial driver operations. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, comfortable working with drivers, and interested in transportation safety, DOT compliance, and fleet administration. The Safety Administrative Assistant will help maintain driver qualification records, monitor compliance requirements, assist with onboarding, and provide day-to-day administrative support to our Safety team. Responsibilities Maintain and organize DOT Driver Qualification (DQ) files Assist with onboarding newly hired Class A CDL drivers Review driver documentation for completeness and compliance Track expiration dates for: Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs) Medical certifications Driver applications and required DOT documents Motor vehicle records Training and safety documentation Assist with FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements Assist with pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing documentation Maintain records related to driver safety and compliance Assist with DMV Pull Notice / MVR monitoring Request and maintain previous-employer DOT safety information when required Help ensure driver files remain current and audit-ready Assist with accident, incident, and safety documentation Prepare forms, reports, spreadsheets, and compliance records Communicate with drivers regarding missing, expired, or required documents Follow up with drivers to ensure compliance items are completed on time Maintain confidential employee and driver information Assist the Safety Department with DOT audits and compliance reviews Perform data entry and maintain accurate electronic and physical records Provide general administrative support to the Safety Manager and Safety Department Assist with other safety, driver, and fleet-related administrative duties as needed Qualifications Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable handling confidential employee and driver information Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with commercial drivers Ability to manage multiple deadlines and follow up on outstanding items Comfortable using computers, email, Microsoft Excel, Word, and electronic filing systems Ability to learn DOT and FMCSA regulations and company safety procedures Dependable, professional, and able to work independently Preferred Experience Previous experience in trucking, transportation, logistics, fleet, or construction Experience working with Class A CDL drivers Familiarity with DOT Driver Qualification files Familiarity with FMCSA regulations Familiarity with the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse Familiarity with California DMV Employer Pull Notice (EPN) programs Previous HR, safety, compliance, recruiting, or administrative experience DOT experience is preferred but not required for a highly organized candidate who is willing to learn.
