Job Description

This Administrative Assistant
  • Patient Registration Position Features:
  • Consistent Weekday-plus Schedule

  • Healthcare Environment Experience We are seeking a reliable and professional Administrative Assistant to support front desk operations in a fast-paced psychiatric unit.
This role requires strong customer service skills, the ability to stay composed in sensitive situations, and experience working in a medical office environment. You will be responsible for patient check-in, phone support, and general administrative coordination within a behavioral health setting. Responsibilities
  • Register and check in patients accurately and efficiently
  • Answer and direct high-volume incoming calls
  • Provide front desk support to patients, visitors, and staff
  • Coordinate transportation, including ambulances and patient transfers
  • Maintain organized work areas and assist with administrative tasks
  • Communicate effectively with clinical staff, security, and departments
  • Handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality Qualifications
  • Minimum 2+ years of medical office or patient registration experience
  • Experience in a hospital, behavioral health, or psychiatric setting preferred
  • Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, MediTech, etc.)
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and office systems)
  • Comfortable working with behavioral health patients
