Central San, a progressive public utility, is seeking an Environment, Health and Safety Administrator. This position will su pervise, assign, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, and emergency action plan responses. This role will also develop, implement, and administer programs, policies, and procedures, plan, organize, and direct the development of a wide variety of safety, and training programs, and ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures. Duties of the position will include: Reviews current and proposed regulatory requirements to determine impact on the District; provides feedback to the regulatory agencies as appropriate. Oversees the development and delivery of training programs in support of District goals; audits programs and standards to ensure continued compliance from a performance and administrative standpoint; recommends and implements changes as appropriate. Participates in developing and overseeing the implementation of emergency action plans. Participates in overseeing accident and incident investigations including notification of appropriate personnel; reviews accident and incident records; identifies trends and recommends corrective and preventative actions. Participates in and oversees the development and maintenance of a comprehensive contractor safety program, including establishing standards for contractor safety orientations and required pre-construction activities before notices to proceed are issued or work begins. Recommends acceptable personal protective equipment and safety equipment for use by District personnel; meets with vendors to source and evaluate equipment; approves purchase of equipment. Education:
Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.
Experience:
Five (5) years of safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental engineering experience including two (2) years of lead or supervisory experience. Substitution for

Four (4) years of additional qualifying experience as noted above may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree.
Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of a valid California Driver's License. A valid out of state driver's license will be accepted during the application process. Must possess a valid California Driver's License within 90 days of appointment. Possession of a certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Graduate Safety Practitioner (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), and/or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
