SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Chino Basin Water Conservation District (District) is recognized as an innovative and effective water conservation organization. The District is dedicated to the protection of the Chino Groundwater Basin to ensure that the current and future water needs of the region are met.
Its core business is two-pronged:
(1) increase water supply through groundwater percolation; and (2) decrease water demand through conservation education, workforce training, and services. The District provides programs, services, and resources to audiences of all ages and backgrounds to cultivate a community-wide conservation ethic and build regional capacity for water resilience. The Board Clerk is an advanced-level position that performs all functions necessary for the efficient operations of the Clerk of the Board office, including providing advanced and multi-functional administrative support to the department. Receives general supervision from the Administrative Services Manager/Assistant General Manager (ASM/AGM) and supports the General Manager as needed. The incumbent in this position does not routinely exercise supervision, but may serve as a lead administrative resource for the department in the absence of the ASM/AGM and may assist with mentoring junior administrative staff, interns, and consultants as assigned. This is a full-time 40 hours per week, non-exempt under FLSA standards, and hourly position that works a standard 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. work schedule Monday-Friday. This position requires occasional evenings and weekend work to assist with special events, as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in public administration, business, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is accepted. Minimum of 5 years of progressively advanced-level administrative experience, with at least 2-3 years directly related to the primary duties and essential functions specified, preferably with a Board Clerk/City Clerk's Office. Any recent training such as academic courses and certification programs, which are relevant to this job classification. Certification as a Municipal Clerk (CMC) by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks is highly desirable.
COMPENSATION
The hourly range for the position
Board Clerk:
$47.22- $61.95 (% COLA effective January 1, 2027).
